40 Feet Flatbed Trailer Rental
Heavy-duty 40-feet flatbed trailers designed for oversized and commercial freight including steel, lumber, machinery, construction materials and large equipment. Open-deck loading from any side makes handling awkward loads simple.
Built for big, heavy and awkward loads
The 40 ft flatbed is our largest open-deck rental. A full 102 in wide deck, a 20,000 lb GVWR and loading from any side make it the trailer contractors, equipment dealers and fabricators reach for when a load is too long or too heavy for anything smaller. Typical loads include:
Skid steers, compact tractors and other equipment, pulled on with the included winch
Steel beams, pipe, rebar and structural material
Lumber packages, trusses and building supplies
Multiple vehicles or several pieces of equipment in one trip
Pallets and crates that are easier to load by forklift from the side
What is included
12,000 lb winch: pull equipment or a non-running vehicle onto the deck without extra help.
8 ratchet tie-downs: enough straps to secure most loads front, middle and rear.
Stake pockets: add stakes or extra anchor points for long or loose material.
Tow vehicle and license requirements
This trailer connects with a gooseneck or pintle hitch, so you need a heavy-duty pickup with a bed-mounted gooseneck ball or a pintle hook, plus a trailer brake controller and the right wiring plug. Because of its size and rating, make sure your truck is rated for the loaded weight and that your license and insurance cover a combination this heavy. Requirements can depend on how you use the trailer, so call us if you have questions before booking.
Pickup and requirements
Pick up in Wylie, TX, with easy access to Garland, Rockwall, Plano, McKinney and the rest of Dallas–Fort Worth. Bring a valid driver's license, current insurance and a credit card for the deposit. Renters must be 21 or older.
Other options
For lighter equipment, the 20 ft flatbed rental is easier to tow with a standard ball hitch. No gooseneck truck? Book our 40 ft flatbed hot shot service and our driver will haul it for you. For full truckloads, see our flatbed semi trucking.
Frequently asked questions
Can I load equipment that does not run?
Yes. The 12,000 lb winch lets you pull a non-running vehicle or machine onto the deck, as long as it stays within the trailer's rating.
